Social Media Influencer Coordinator

As the Social Media Influencer Coordinator at Hot Topic you’ll be asked to create relationships with influencers and collaborate with them to amplify Hot Topic’s campaigns. We’re looking for someone obsessed with music, pop culture, fashion, technology and the latest social media trends. You follow and know influencers and content creators across Instagram, TikTok and more. The Social Media Influencer Coordinator will also provide support to the Social Media team with daily operations and implementation of marketing projects and campaigns on social media. This position reports to Associate Manager, Influencer Marketing.


  • Identify and cultivate relationships with micro- and nano- influencers
  • Coordinate all HT Fanatic program and campaign details including identifying, ideating and executing campaigns, drafting campaign briefs and content guidelines to ensure most engaging content creation
  • Be the contact and liaison for HT Fanatic brand ambassadors
  • Utilize Mavrck and social tools to track and measure HT Fanatic campaign performance against KPIs
  • Identify the best HT Fanatic content for repurposing across marketing channels
  • Identify HT Fanatics for other marketing channel opportunities, i.e. modeling
  • Assist in driving diversity amongst brand ambassador relationships
  • Work within budget to fulfill all ambassador partnerships
  • Assist in ideating, planning and executing HT Fanatic events; stay abreast of and attend external influencer related events and learn best practices along the way.
  • Understand the influencer landscape, their social platforms, content creation patterns and their work
  • Assist in developing stories and leveraging influencers that connect to brand objectives and consumer needs
  • Assist in activating brand ambassadors on emerging platforms
  • Monitor, track and share new digital and social trends, tools and platforms to connect with brand strategies
  • Constantly network with and up-and-coming influencers that are on brand
  • Collaborate with internal teams (creative services, merchants, etc) to plan and execute campaigns


  • BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent preferred
  • Prior marketing experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, preferred
  • Experience with Social Insights
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
  • Strong ability to multi-task and seamlessly move from project to project
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and demonstrated knowledge and proven ability to identify marketing opportunities
  • Passion and open mind regarding music, pop culture and fashion trends
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change and maintains composure under pressure
  • Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues
  • Open to working nights and weekends
